Easy 10-Step Green Building Certification Process
We follow a 10-step process for green building certification projects that keeps your project on track and prevents costly delays.
Preconstruction
1. Preliminary Meeting
The technical team will meet with the project team and confirm the path for program requirements to be met.
2. Documentation Review
The technical team will review and update documents and work with the project team to ensure documents reflect program compliance.
3. Documentation Approval
The technical team will approve drawings, cut sheets, and program checklists.
Construction
4. Kickoff Meeting
The technical team will host a meeting with the project team to kick off the project and communicate the plan.
5. Trades Training
The technical team will host a meeting with subcontractors to communicate expectations and responsibilities regarding program compliance.
6. Rough Inspections
The technical team will execute rough inspections such as TBI/thermal bypass inspections and pre-drywall inspections per program requirements.
7. Final Inspections
The technical team will execute final inspections per program requirements. All testing, verification, documentation, and photo collection are completed at this time.
Post Construction
8. Update As-Built
Using documentation collected during inspections and documentation requests, the technical team will update energy models and program documents to reflect as-built conditions.
9. Certification
The technical team submits all energy models, program checklists, and documentation to certifying bodies. Once certificates are received, they are immediately delivered to the project team.
10. Project Post-Mortem
The technical team meets with the client to review the project. If improvements are recommended, the technical team will document them and implement reasonable improvements in future processes.
